Diflucan: Effective for Much More Than Just Fungal Infections
If you have ever experienced a vaginal yeast infection that was caused by candida, you may have been prescribed a drug called Diflucan. This drug is most commonly used to treat different types of fungal infections. It can be used to treat infections that occur within the vagina, lungs, urinary tract, mouth and esophagus. What many people aren’t aware of is that Diflucan has a much wider scope of use. Doctors may prescribe it to prevent cryptococcal meningitis for anyone who is suffering from AIDS. It is also used to decrease the risk of infection for people who require radiation therapy or chemotherapy after receiving a bone marrow transplant.
